NHL Rumour Report: DeBrincat, Kubalik rumours surface

Trade chatter is starting to pick up pace for Chicago, who figure to be major players at this year's NHL trade deadline.

- The Blackhawks figure to be pretty busy this next few weeks as the team gears up for another trade deadline firesale. Aside from Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and a select few others, all bets are off when it comes to the Blackhawks at this trade deadline.

- Blackhawks rumblings have mostly focused on Marc-Andre Fleury and Dylan Strome, but two new names have entered the rumour mill: star forwards Alex DeBrincat and Dominik Kubalik.

- Rumours suggest interim GM Kyle Davidson is listening to offers on DeBrincat, who has another year left on his deal at a reasonable $6.5 million cap hit. But DeBrincat is an arbitration-eligible RFA, which is presents an unpredictability that many GMs try to steer clear of altogether.

- Dominik Kubalik, who is also an arbitration eligible RFA, has generated some trade buzz himself. Kubalik's offensive game has fallen off this year, but the Blackhawks could probably still move what's left of his $3.7 million dollar contract, perhaps with money retained.
- In addition to DeBrincat and Kubalik, the Blackhawks are believed to be shopping Brandon Hagel and Calvin de Haan. It's unclear if Strome, who was almost traded several times under the previous regime, is still available. Strome has played better as of late, and is still young enough to remain part of the Blackhawks plans moving forward.
