The latest on the top 20 rumoured NHL trade targets.
With the NHL trade deadline rapidly approaching, here are the biggest names that could be on the move:
Matt Duchene (F) - Senators
Things appear to be inching towards a trade some time before the deadline. The Sens still have hope that he re-signs. The Sabres are among the teams rumoured to have interest.
Artemi Panarin (F) - Blue Jackets
He might end up staying past the deadline, but there's no extension in sight. The Blue Jackets have a tough decision to make this trade season.
Jimmy Howard (G) - Red Wings
Plenty of teams with interest in Howard. The Blues, Penguins, Flames and Hurricanes have kicked tires, but the Wings also hope to extend him.
Wayne Simmonds (F) - Flyers
The pending UFA is generating a ton of buzz. I think he's moved before the deadline. The Leafs, Jets and Flames have been linked to Simmonds already.
Kevin Hayes (F) - Rangers
Not entirely clear whether he moves or not, but this guy is always in the rumour mill. The Jets, Bruins and Avalanche are interested.
Sergei Bobrovsky (G) - Blue Jackets
Could get dealt, but the Blue Jackets are competing and may just bite the bullet and keep the pending UFA for one more playoff run. The Flyers and Flames are possible landing spots.
Charlie Coyle (F) - Wild
Not sure why the Wild would move Coyle, but his name is out there. The Bruins, Canadiens, Senators and Sabres have been linked to Coyle.
Alec Martinez (D) - Kings
Could be an offseason move, but a trade seems likely at this point. The Lightning, Maple Leafs and Penguins have come up as possible trade partners.
Jake Muzzin (D) - Kings
Same deal with Muzzin. Kings looking to build for the future. Toronto and Pittsburgh are possibilities.
Vladimir Tarasenko (F) - Blues
There seems to be a deteriorating relationship between Tarasenko and the Blues for some reason. The Hurricanes are one of many teams that would love to get their hands on 'Tank'.
Michael Ferland (F) - Hurricanes
Pending UFA may be pricing himself out of Carolina. Toronto is a possibility as a rental.
Gustav Nyquist (F) - Red Wings
Chicago, Nashville and Los Angeles have been linked to Nyquist, though Nashville is the only contender of that three. Many more teams are likely to surface.
Mats Zuccarello (F) - Rangers
The Rangers aren't deadset on trading Zuccarello, but the Predators and Sabres could be fits.
Jesse Puljujarvi (F) - Oilers
This may be GM Peter Chiarelli's last big card to play in a bid to save his job. If I'm Oilers ownership, I'm not letting Chiarelli mortgage any more of the team's future on band-aid solutions.
Ryan Dzingel (F) - Senators
Not clear who's interested yet, but it's highly likely he moves at some point.
Patrick Maroon (F) - Blues
The pending UFA winger should net the Blues a modest return. No suitors just yet - he's likely a last minute trade on deadline day.
Alex Edler (D) - Canucks
Teams would love to add Edler - but is he truly available? The Canucks see Edler as a key cog in their playoff hopes. Tampa Bay is a potential landing spot.
Jeff Carter (F) - Kings
He might not want to leave LA, but the Kings need to kickstart their rebuild. The Bruins, Coyotes and Predators are possibilities.
Dougie Hamilton (D) - Hurricanes
Why does this guy keep getting traded? Rumours suggest he could be on the move again. There will be no shortage of teams with interest. The Blues and Penguins have been mentioned as rumoured landing spots.
Colton Parayko (D) - Blues
Parayko is no stranger to the rumour mill. Just about everyone on St. Louis is available for the right price, and Parayko's name seems to be coming up a lot in trade rumours.
