Top 15 NHL trade deadline targets

There are over 100 names on NHL Rumour Report's trade rumour board. Some of those players are longshots to move, while many others will be traded in the not so distant future.
There will plenty of movement at this year's trade deadline, but not all of the moves will be big names. That being said, here are 15 elite players that might legitimately be on the move:

15. Dennis Wideman - A diminished player, but a top 6 defenseman nonetheless. Someone will bite (if the Flames are sellers).

14. Thomas Vanek - The Wings will fight to stay in the playoff hunt. Vanek is playing well, cheap and pending UFA. Solid value.

13. Radim Vrbata - Another comeback player of the year candidate. The Coyotes are open for business.

12. Dennis Seidenberg
The Isles are holding on for their playoff lives, but if they're sellers (and they can't extend him) they'll flip him.

11. Jarome Iginla
The Blackhawks are one team Iggy might consider a trade to in what might be his final Cup run. In the midst of a tough season, but that could be partially environmental.

10. Ryan Miller
All options are on the table. If the 'Nucks remain in the playoff hunt he probably stays put. They could extend him, too. But teams will come calling if he's dangled on the market.

9. Jaro Halak or Thomas Greiss
If the Isles continue to slip in the standings, they'll want to do some housekeeping at the deadline. One of their three NHL goalies (the other being JF Berube) must go, and it's the two veterans who seem to be in rumours lately.

8. Evander Kane
Two years left on his deal at $5.25 million per; plenty of question marks. But someone will take a chance.

7. Michael Stone
Extension negotiations haven't gone anywhere. Should fetch a lot if moved.

6. Dmitry Kulikov
Depends if the Sabres can get him extended. If not, the pending UFA would be a top deadline asset.

5. Martin Hanzal
The 6'6 pending UFA pivot will be highly sought after. Habs are a possibility, but many will be interested.

4. Gabriel Landeskog
The gritty winger will only move if the return is huge. Avs are listening carefully to offers. The Kings, Bruins and Senators have been linked to Landeskog recently.

3. Matt Duchene
An impact center of this calibre isn't often available, but Colorado is keen to shake things up. Won't move if Landeskog is traded.

2. Ben Bishop
It's unclear whether the Lightning would move him in-season, but he's a difference maker in the crease. Dallas has inquired.

1. Marc-Andre Fleury
He could turn a mediocre team into a bona-fide playoff contender. He's got the Cup rings to back it up. The Blues have been rumoured as one option.

Last year there were 39 trades in the month leading up to the trade deadline, and this year promises to be action packed as well. Keep an eye on the NHL Rumour Report trade rumour board in the leadup to March 1st.
