Reports surfaced this past weekend suggest the team made inquiries for both Gabriel Landeskog and James van Riemsdyk. Both players have been in the rumour mill this season, especially the former.
The 'Hawks don't have a ton of room to manoeuvre financially, so their interest in big money players is intriguing to say the least.
Other reports suggest the team isn't looking to do anything big just yet, so these rumours might be a sign that GM Stan Bowman is just doing his due diligence and making some calls. But one thing to consider is that the Blackhawks may be forced to trade someone ahead of the expansion draft - some have suggested Trevor van Riemsdyk (brother of James) as the odd man out.
