A quick update the night before the 2016 NHL entry draft. Just 24 hours left...
- Multiple reports suggesting the Flames are looking at goalie Brian Elliott as an option for this season. Not a huge shock given the emergence of Jake Allen...and some have suggested he has quietly requested a trade anyways.
- If goalies Ben Bishop and or Brian Elliott get moved, some wonder what happens to Marc-Andre Fleury and Jimmy Howard. The Dallas Stars have been brought up as a team that might want to look for an upgrade in the crease. If so, Antti Niemi probably goes the other way.
- Lots of buzz linking the Ducks and Sabres in a blockbuster...some speculation has pointed to defenseman Cam Fowler going to Buffalo; it's unclear what the Ducks would want. It's no secret that Fowler is on the market, but so far nothing concrete has emerged to confirm he is definitely part of the deal.
- Some buzz the Oilers are working on a minor deal to acquire Blackhawks center Mark McNeil. The Oilers seem to be busy talking to the Habs about a certain Norris-winning defenseman though...
