Perron, Rychel and the white hot blueline market

Would the Penguins trade winger David Perron? Quiet rumblings out of Pittsburgh have the team debating putting Perron on the market. The Penguins' big acquisition at the 2014 trade deadline doesn't seem to be a fit in the top six, but would still hold value around the league as a reclamation project. The Penguins are eager to acquire a defenseman and would be willing to move Perron in return.

The consensus three teams most eager to acquire Columbus winger Kerby Rychel are Montreal, Calgary and Anaheim.

In recent days Calgary, St. Louis and Philadelphia have been fielding the most inquiries for their blueliners. Dennis Wideman, Ladislav Smid, Kris Russell, Carl Gunnarsson and Luke Schenn are all seeing their names in the rumour mill. The Leafs are always open for business, but it doesn't sound like substantive offers are being made on their defensemen quite yet.
